On a clear and hot Saturday, September 7, Vista. Historical Society held our annual Old Fashioned Pit Barbeque at the Museum grounds. Thanks to the effort of our event chairman Russ Harvey and our many volunteers, we were able to provide a great event for our guests. This was our best barbeque ever, despite the weather.
This year, music was provided for the second time by Nitro Express, who played a variety of country western and rock.
The food, prepared by a great crew Russ Harvey, Todd Anderson, Spike Harvey, Terry Moxley, Aaron Long, Leo Simental, Gus Harvey and Roland Allen, consisted of beef and pork which were prepared in our own barbeque pit. In addition, the meal included hot dogs, homemade coleslaw, ranch beans, rolls and corn on the cob. Lemonade and water were provided with the meal. Beer and wine were available for sale.
There were 15 great raffle and 2 great auction baskets this year.
